Grandma's Banana Bread

Grandma’s Banana Bread

Ingredients:

5 TBS butter
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 large egg
2 egg whites
1tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cup mashed very ripe bananas (about 3)
1 ¾ cup all purpose flour
1tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder
½ cup heavy cream
1/3 cup chopped walnuts

-Preheat oven to 350
-Spray bottom only of a 9x5x3loaf pan
-Beat butter in a large bowl with an electric mixer set at medium speed until light and fluffy.
-Add white and brown sugars and beat well.
-Add egg, egg whites and vanilla; beat until well blended.
-Add mashed banana and beat on high for 30 seconds.
-Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder in medium bowl.
-Add flour mixture to the batter, alternately with cream, ending with the flour mixture.
-Add walnuts to the batter and mix well.
-Pour batter evenly into loaf pan, and bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick pulls out clean.
-Cool bread in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.
